Weigh in - Day 41

I had my Alizonne appointment today and the fantastic news is I've broken the 100kg barrier - and am now 98.8kg (15 stone 7 lbs)!!!

The bad news is it's unlikely I'll complete phase 1 within the 9 weeks they originally stated, and am currently looking at an additional 2-3 weeks to hit the required 89kg before they move me off Phase 1. Apparently this is quite normal, and the only people who seem to hit the Phase 1 estimates are men, which does beg the question why they provide such optimistic estimates in the first place. It means it will be touch and go for me to be fully phased off by my birthday in May, and off course there's the cost - but I kind of feel like I've invested so much in this already and it is working, so I don't think I really have a choice....

hi big girl, thank you so much for all your info on the diet I am so enjoying reading them ,I am due to have my consultation on 24th feb ,I am feeling scared of failing and I am worried about feeling ill and hungry infact can you nibble on anything if you feel sick with hunger I think that is what scares me as I have been known to faint with hunger!! I am 16st 5lbs so it is going to cost many thousands which my partner is very against as I have to go into debt to do this diet, I have tried so many diets and failed so many I dont want to fail again and be paying for it for years to come,so could you give me your thoughts please, and by the way CONGRATULATIONS !!! on the weight loss so far, kind regards, susi Q

Hi Susi Q, I'm so glad you got in touch and my blog is helping somewhat.

I started out at 17st 4lbs and am now 15st 7lbs after 6 weeks. It isn't cheap, but you can reasonably expect to lose a stone a month.

Like you, I've tried so many diets during my life, and have either lost a bit only to then have the weight loss stop completely, or ended up putting everything back on again.

The biggest advice I can give you is to make sure you are mentally prepared to take this on so you don't let anything distract you from being focussed on sticking to the rules. Also, definitely experiment with the sachets and try as many different ones as you can - some you'll like more than others. I buy a number of different ones so I have a lot of variety in my diet to try to keep things fresh.

As for the debt, I guess you've just got to ask yourself whether your health and well being is worth it. For me it is, so we are making sacrifices to afford it. Also, I know some people sell off their clothes as they lose weight to help cover the costs, and you should be spending less on groceries as you'll only be shopping for veggies rather than any meats etc

Good luck - it works if you stick to it and I'm always help to help if I can ;)

Hi Susi Q - I will definitely keep blogging, and as you've seen will share both the highs and the lows. If it helps anyone else out there I'll be absolutely delighted!
The only negatives I've seen posted are on the cost (which we all know about already) and one lady has put on 5 stone again - however from her postings it seems she didn't do her monthly check ups for a full 12 months after phasing off and went back to her old ways of eating. I think it's fair to say she would have put on weight again irrespective of which diet she tried.
Do you think your partner would support you enough to measure you each week? If not you should be able to just about manage your bust, waist and hips yourself. It definitely makes such a difference to see the inches dropping off, particularly in weeks when you only lose a bit. Also, I took my husband along to my initial doctor's consultation so he could ask questions and feel happy with what I was doing - if you can convince your partner that may help.
Good luck and please let me know how you get on on the 24th!

Hi Susi Q, I've had the odd day when I've felt a bit hungry, but I haven't had any days when I've been starving. During the week when I'm at work I find I have to remind myself to eat. I've found that between the meals, the snacks and all the water you have to drink I'm generally full. Plus, you can always have black coffee or tea with sweetener as well if you find you need something else. Can't wait to hear how you get on on the 24th - good luck!
