Measurements - after day 192

I started the alternate Phase 6/Phase 7 this week, and it felt great getting some carbs back in the diet - although I was somewhat petrified I'd immediately feel the pain on the scale - but thankfully that hasn't happened.

I definitely feel SO much more confident about my body now, enough to wear a short strappy top with my leggings to my Movers & Shapers session yesterday.

This week's measurements are:

Bust - 87cm (2cm loss since last measurements - 21cm lost in total - 2cm below target - wow!)
Waist - 78cm (2cm loss since last measurements - 26cm loss in total - 6cm to go) - finally getting close!
Hips - 95cm (1cm loss since last measurements - 36cm loss in total - 0cm to go) - HIT TARGET!!!!

I also lost 2cm on my arms and 1cm on my thighs. Clearly my body seems to be loving phasing off.

My home scale says I weigh around 71.7kg now, so I continue having a bit of buffer below my 75kg target, which is exacly what I wanted. It also means I have now lost a whopping 6 stone!!! I have to be honest, I never thought I was carrying that much excess weight on me, and can't even imagine where I was hiding it all.

One thing I do need to check with the Alizonne doctor when I go for my last phasing off appointment on 15th July is why my BMI is apparently "overweight", when I thought targets were set based on getting to a healthy BMI. Am very confused about that, especially as the NHS Direct website says I'd need to get down to about 62kg to be at a healthy BMI, which seems a really low number.......

Will update after Thursday's Alizonne appointment on how it all went

End of Phase 3 and weigh in - Day 159

Ok, I know today is actually Day 160, but I didn't have a chance to post this last night when I got home from Alizonne as I had to get to Moves & Shapers for a session.

The fantastic news is that I officially moved from Phase 3 to Phase 4 as of Day 160, with weight details being:

Current weight - 78.5kg (2.8kg loss since last weigh in) - 31.4kg total lost to date
Weight in stone - 12st 5lb - 4st 13lbs lost to date, or 69.3lbs
Weight to lose (to hit lower target of 75kg/11st 11lbs) - 3.5kg or 7.7lbs

So, the plan is to stay on Phase 4 for 2 weeks and then 1 week each of Phases 5-7, so 5 weeks left until I'm done - yay!

Lovely moment - Day 73

I went to Movers & Shapers for a power plate session today, and ran into a lady there who I haven't seen in ages. Although my husband and I usually go together, he had a football game to get to so switched his Saturday session to last night, so I went on my own.

At the end of the session we were both getting some water when she turned to me and said, "Now I remember who you are. You used to be really big, have you lost like half your body weight? You usually come with your husband don't you? Yes, you are who I'm thinking of, it's unbelievable". I can't begin to describe how touched I was, and how much motivation comments like that give me

Then I came home and got rid of a few more clothes that are now too big ;)

Day 10

Feels like a bit of a landmark day today - 10 days!

Went to Movers & Shapers this morning and it was measurement and weigh in day, which they do every 6 weeks. I was so chuffed when they weighed me and said I'd lost 3kg!!! I'm actually hoping his underestimates actual weight loss, as their machine doesn't do half weights. I also lost inches on every area of my body except thighs, although as I'm using my husband's measurements for this blog and tracking I'm not going to use theirs - although waist was 5cm down from the last time they measured and hips 1cm.

Breakfast (10.45am finish): pancake with apricot jelly - yum!

Snack (1.45pm finish): we went to Nero's for coffee after our Movers & Shapers session as we needed to do grocery shopping before heading home (couldn't drive because of the snow so we had to walk) and wouldn't had time to finish this and get home. I had an Americano mixed with a hoc choc powder, which was actually quite nice

Lunch (4.30pm finish): finally tried the fish soup, which tastes like Lobster bisque and is quite nice, with salad

Snack (7.30pm finish): choc dessert

Dinner (9.45pm finish): pizza (yum!) topped with garlic powder, mixed herbs, olive oil, tomato, mushrooms, spinach and red pepper. Very nice but next time I'll make it with a bit of chilli

All in all a good day and at least I've got over the starving hunger I had yesterday. Can't explain it but I was SO hungry all day.......

On the menu today - Day 1

Having had a lie-in this morning things started a bit later than usual, but today's food consisted of:

Breakfast (10.30am finish) - cheese souffle (slightly messed up as I couldn't find the instructions and ended up microwaving instead of sticking it in the oven so it ended up a solid lump). I was impressed to actually have a texture to the food though, as well as a cheesy smell. Luckily although it's cheese flavoured all the lactose has been removed so throughout I can eat any of the Alizonne foods - yay!

Snack (2pm finish) - on getting back from a Movers & Shapers session I had a cappuccino

Lunch (4.15pm finish) - HUGE 200g salad consisting of lettuce, green pepper, spring onion green and alfalfa sprouts, with a red wine vinegard, lemon juice, onion salt and mixed herb dressing; with a chicken curry soup

Dinner (yet to come but likely to be around 8pm) - potato pie with red cabbage and broccoli

Snack (to follow at least 2 hours after dinner) - one of my desserts - I'm feeling chocolatey so probably one of those

I also managed to call Alizonne this morning and got bookings for the remaining 2 weeks in Jan

All in all it's been a good day. I haven't even had any headaches, haven't been grumpy and best of all I don't feel hungry. I've even managed my 2 litres of water, although am now constantly going to the loo as it all drops out the other end :)

Hopefully this bodes well for the next few weeks, looking forward to weighing myself on Sunday and doing measurements to see if anything has moved

I'm on my way

I will post on food intake for day 1 later, but just wanted to post quickly about my experience yesterday at Alizonne.

I arrived for my appointment and had a few spare minutes to book in my next few weeks of treatments. Unfortunately I forgot my work diary at home so only managed to get 2 of the 4 weeks booked - leaving the rest to book the next day by phone.

I then got taken by a lovely therapist called Gloria to a treatment room, where I was told to strip down to my underwear. After weighing me (somehow I'm 1.5kg lighter than the first time I went!), I lay on my back on a bed so she could slather gel on and then strap a silicone belt over my stomach. Into this she slipped in plastic rods and then attached electric currents to the rods for the Ultrasound machine. Once she turned them on I was told I could feel itchy, but I didn't - this could be down to the stimulation I already get from the powerplate sessions at Movers & Shapers. What I did feel was small pin prick sensations - not painful just strange.

After around 20-25 minutes of this Gloria left the room and I had to take off my underwear and put on a full body stocking - not attractive I can tell you! I then lay on the bed while she used the Endermologie machine on me - basically a hoover type machine. The areas where I have the most cellulite were the most painful and she had to turn the pressure down, but the rest were ok.

All in all both treatments took an hour and 15 minutes, but we chatted throughout so it really flew by. Unfortunately I can't substitute skimmed yoghurt with soya yoghurt so will either need to find an alternative or live without.

Afterwards I picked up my pack of starter vitamins and food for the week (each box has 7 packs in):

  • 1 pack assorted savouries
  • 1 pack assorted soups
  • 1 pack assorted desserts
  • 1 pack cappuccino
  • 1 pack hot choc
  • 1 pack potato pie with herbs
I followed their advice of buying an extra pack as some I won't like as much as others.

Once we left we decided to have my "last meal" at Wagamama where I totally filled up.

Bring it on!
